 David SmithDavid a New York City native is a longtime Capital land favorite and musical survivor. Having wore many musical hats throughout his career, guitarist, artist, singer, songwriter, producer, band member and all around musical bonvivant, David comes full circle, leading his own band with their own unique standard of exciting, blues and groove based rock music. As guitarist and songwriter for nationally and internationally known groups Blacksmith and Freaknation. David brings many years of experience to the stage. Touring and promotions throughout the U. S. and abroad, along with a number of CD/Record releases America and Europe over the past decade prove his professionalism and dedication to music. A number of David’s original songs have appeared in several Fox syndicated television shows over the past few years. Mr. Smith’s fiery and imaginative guitar work, along with his powerful and soulful vocals, lay down an exciting framework for his Bad Karma partners. • Email David Smith • Back to top  Julie CheneyJulie grew up on a quiet street in Waterford-Halfmoon riddled with musicians, most of which are still playing in the area. Because of the influence of her 3 brothers and father, Julie developed a love and true feel for music at an early age. Having traveled the country and taking in festivals from BlueGrass, Jam-Band, Rock - n - Roll and Country, Julie's taste for stylistic and mind bending music tuned her ear. Her influences span from Blues, funk, to jazz fusion..everything else in between. Over the past 4 yrs, Julie has had much success in the Albany Cover-band scene..out and about almost every weekend. Her vocal styles are unique for a female as she has the ability and range to handle songs from Black Sabbath to Rage Against the Machine. Her energy and on-stage antics make for quite a show. A true performer with a sense of humor.! • Email Julie Cheney • Back to top  John DodgeJohn is a longtime favorite to the Capital area music scene, with his powerful, fluid and inventive bass playing, John brings a big solid groove to the band. John is also quite accomplished vocalist, sharing lead vocal duties and adding "on the money" harmonies to the bands overall sound. John has seen much of the world, and some of his touring stints include Texas and into Mexico. John served as a player and pilot for the Capital District band LOKI, and Tazmanian Metal to name a few. John's experience in the technical side of the sonic production and staging, lend itself in the overall quality and "big picture" of the group. John's great attitude, enthusiasm and hard work within the band, pay off large dividends within the Bad Karma partnership. • Email John Dodge • Back to top  Michael CraigMichael’s musical likes and influence cover a wide range that may be odd to some, but understood also. Growing up in beautiful Crime-Free Albany in the 70’s, listening to Aerosmith, Kiss, Chicago, Elvis, Bad Co. and ELO as well as appreciating the Motown stuff like The Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder and The Temptations from years before, Mike began to relate them all to one common thing, GROOVE.. Then came the formative years, the 80’s !! Metal ruled at alma-matre Colonie High School, and that seemed to be Mike’s calling. Ozzy, Priest, Maiden, Dio, Kiss and Motley, Michael got into his first band at age 16. Through the years, the names of the bands he’s been in, and gained experience in have changed more than he can even keep track of, but one thing remained constant, Michael loved to rock, hard and heavy, hitting the drums as hard as he could, and keeping one thing in mind… Entertain !! Recently, when the job of drummer for Bad Karma was offered, Mike couldn’t resist. He had known of David Smith, from the Blacksmith days, often crossing paths at shows, but never actually playing with him. He knew Dave was not your “average” guitar player, and he knew of Bad Karma’s reputation of musicianship, dedication and the goal of entertaining the masses. It was a no-brainer to join David and John and keep this machine rolling!!. Michaels loves are, his wife (Chris) and kids (Nicky & Anna), Rock and Roll, The NY Yankees, Pittsburgh Steelers and gambling of any kind !!!
